The instruments are drums, upright bass, pedal steel, banjos, piano, guitar, vocals and stories. Spin Magazine and No Depression have described them as the best live band in America. The songs are each thoughtfully crafted with unique arrangements, executed by superb musicianship, then fully realized through original, insightful and intelligent lyrics. Slim Cessna's Auto Club. I like that description from Slim's myspace page because the band is hard to describe. They started as a country band and have fucked it up so badly that it is something entirely different now. 'Jesus Let Me Down' was originally released as a limited live album only available at performances but sounds too good to remain out of print so it has since been released as a 'normal' release. Jon Killough, original Auto Club drummer, created the artwork and also titled the album, much to the disappointment of Munly and Slim's mother.
